We at OSARA know that the overall cost of medical education can be daunting for students; therefore, we have introduced three scholarships to assist eligible students—the Global Health Scholars Award, the President’s Opportunity Scholarship and the Canadian Books Scholarship. All three are merit based and every student can apply. We want students to succeed and go on to make a difference in the world and the medical scholarships available here are the first step in that monumental journey.

The President’s Opportunity Scholarship is a merit-based scholarship that provides tuition assistance to students who have demonstrated that they have made significant contributions to their communities through volunteer work or research, while maintaining the highest academic standards.

Eligibility: This award is open to incoming first-semester students only.

Award Amount: $10,000 award towards tuition given for the first financial academic term of enrollment.

Continued Eligibility: This is a scholarship that covers the full cost of tuition for the first year of enrollment in a program selected international medical university.

The Global Health Scholars Award is offered to students who show the desire to be a steward of medicine on a worldwide scale. This merit-based award provides tuition assistance to students.

Eligibility: This award is open to incoming first-semester students only.

Award Amount: $500 award towards tuition given each semester of enrollment.

Continued Eligibility: Must maintain full time enrollment status and remain in good academic standing.

The Canadian Books Scholarship is offered to students who are Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada. This merit-based scholarship provides financial assistance to students enrolling in a program selected international medical university to help cover the cost of books and supplies.

Eligibility: This award is open to incoming first-semester students only.

Award Amount: $250 award towards books and supplies given for the first financial academic term of enrollment.

Continued Eligibility: This is a scholarship that covers a portion of the books and supply cost for the first year of enrollment in medical school.
